MindSet Matey

1

We created a user person that is for someone who likes playing a game that’s quick, easy and fun but also in a productive way.

4

We created conceptual sketches that helped shape our vision for the game's direction

Final

We created a journey map to guide our next steps, outlining how we would implement our ideas based on our user persona.

3

We brainstormed a variety of ideas for features and functionality to include in the game. We also discussed different layout options to create an intuitive and engaging user experience.

Project Analysis

In this project, I worked with my team to create a single-player web game based on the MSOE mindset pillars. I think I did well at working with my teammates and making sure we communicated clearly. We divided tasks based on our strengths, and I contributed ideas and helped solve problems when needed.

One of the main things I learned was how to use web development tools to create an interactive game that also teaches players something. This was a new challenge for me because I had to think about both the fun aspects of the game and how to make sure it stayed educational. I also improved my ability to balance gameplay with learning, making sure the game was enjoyable while still reinforcing the MSOE mindset. Additionally, I got better at managing my time and keeping the project on track to meet deadlines.

The parts of the project that worked well were the mini-games and the final boss challenge. These elements made the game fun and helped players test what they had learned. The boss fight, in particular, was a great way to wrap up the game, giving players a challenge that combined both gameplay and knowledge.

However, I also noticed some areas where I could improve. We had limited time, which meant we couldn’t fully perfect all the features, like the level-up system and treasure unlocking. In the future, I would try to start the project earlier so that we could spend more time polishing the details.

Looking ahead, this project helped me learn how to make interactive, educational experiences, which I can apply to other projects in the future, such as creating more games or building prototypes that teach users something new. The experience also strengthened my skills in designing fun, user-focused experiences, which will be helpful for my future work.
